PRESS RELEASE

September 25, 2010
TRISATE AREA MUSLIMS TO CELEBRATE THE 25th ANNIVERSARY OF THE MUSLIM DAY PARADE - MARCH ON MADISON AVENUE FROM THE 38 to 23 STREETS

In spite of the campaigns against mosques and the spewing of hatred against Islam and American Muslims by the right wing extremists, the NY-NJ-CT area Muslims refuse to get intimidated. They are expected to march in large numbers on Madison Avenue this Sunday.

The Muslim day parade follows the recently concluded Muslim summit in the New York City that was widely covered by the US and the world media.

The parade will feature Muslim entertainment and ethnic food.  Muslims in the US hail from all countries of the world though a large proportion of the Muslim population is either indigenous (African-American, White and Hispanic) or 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants.

The parade will be followed by Muslim participation in the October 2nd unity rally by the democratic and pluralistic forces in Washington DC and a week of dialogue in October where Muslim mosques all over the country will hold open house.
